Enbridge Gas Inc. has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval to construct:

  • 7.3 kilometres of 2-inch polyethylene natural gas distribution pipeline
  • 385 metres of 4-inch polyethylene natural gas distribution pipeline
  • 115 metres of 4-inch steel natural gas distribution pipeline


Enbridge Gas has also applied for approval of the form of agreement that it has offered or will offer to landowners affected by the routing or location of the pipelines.

Enbridge Gas states that the pipelines are needed to supply natural gas to approximately 112 new residential customers in the community of Haldimand Shores who currently do not have access to natural gas service. Enbridge Gas intends to charge the OEB - approved System Expansion Surcharge to all new customers taking service from the project.

Enbridge Gas states that the Haldimand Shores Community Expansion Project has been approved to receive funding assistance under Phase 2 of the Government of Ontario’s Natural Gas Expansion Program.

The OEB has issued a Decision and Order on the Haldimand Shores Community Expansion Project.

Submit a letter of comment

You can submit a letter of comment that will be considered by the panel deciding the application. Unless the notice states otherwise, your letter of comment must be received by the OEB no later than 60 days after the publication or service date of the notice for the application. Your letter will be provided directly to the panel of Commissioners who will be deciding whether the application is approved. The panel will consider your comments in reaching their decision. The panel will only be able to consider comments which relate to issues which are within the authority of the OEB and relevant to the issues being considered by the panel.
