Imperial Oil Limited Application for Leave to Construct

Imperial Oil Limited has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval to construct approximately 2 kilometres of 12-inch nominal pipe size pipeline, in the City of Hamilton. If approved, the new pipeline will replace a 2 kilometre segment of Imperial Oil Limited’s Sarnia Products Pipeline system that is used to transport refined oil products from Imperial Oil Limited’s Waterdown Pump Station to its Nanticoke Pump Station. Imperial Oil Limited states that it is necessary to relocate the pipeline so as not to impede Lafarge Canada Inc.’s mining operations in the area.

Imperial Oil Limited is also asking the Ontario Energy Board to approve the form of agreement it offers to landowners to use their land for the location and construction of the proposed pipeline.

Imperial Oil Limited states that it will pay for the cost of the project and that the project will have no cost impact on natural gas or electricity ratepayers.
