EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval to build 298 kilometres of natural gas pipeline needed to serve certain unserved communities within the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, Municipality of Kincardine and Township of Huron-Kinloss, in Bruce County.

EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership has also applied for approval of natural gas franchise agreements and certificates of public convenience and necessity that will permit it to distribute natural gas and construct and operate the proposed facilities.

In 2018, the Ontario Energy Board selected EPCOR Southern Bruce Gas Inc., an affiliate of EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership, as the successful proponent to expand natural gas service to communities within the municipalities of Arran-Elderslie and Kincardine and the Township of Huron-Kinloss, that currently do not have access to natural gas service.

EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval:

  • To construct 298 kilometres of natural gas pipeline needed to supply natural gas to communities within the municipalities of Arran-Elderslie and Kincardine and the Township of Huron-Kinloss that currently do not have access to natural gas service
  • Of the form of agreement it offers to landowners to use their land for routing of the proposed natural gas pipeline
  • Of a natural gas franchise agreement with the municipalities of Arran-Elderslie, Kincardine and the Township of Huron-Kinloss and an order that the agreement of the municipal voters in each of the municipalities is not required in relation to granting the natural gas franchise agreement. The natural gas franchise agreements grant EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership the right to construct and operate works for the distribution, transmission and storage of natural gas and the right to extend and add to the works for a period of 20 years within the municipalities
  • Of franchise agreements with, and the issuance of limited certificates of public convenience and necessity for which will authorize the distribution system and works to pass through the following municipalities: County of Bruce, County of Grey, Municipality of Brockton, Municipality of West Grey and Township of Chatsworth. For the franchise agreements, an order that the agreement of the municipal voters in each of the municipalities is not required in relation to ranting the natural gas franchise agreement

Your letter will be provided directly to the panel of Board members who will be deciding whether the application is approved. The panel will consider your comments in reaching their decision. In reaching its decision, the panel will only be able to consider comments which relate to issues which are within the authority of the Board and relevant to the issues being considered by the panel.
