EPCOR Natural Gas application to change its rates for municipalities of Arran-Elderslie and Kincardine, and the Township of Huron-Kinloss, effective January 1, 2019

EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership has applied for approval of natural gas distribution rates and charges it proposes to charge customers in the municipalities of Arran-Elderslie and Kincardine, and the Township of Huron-Kinloss, effective January 1, 2019.

In 2018, the Ontario Energy Board selected an affiliate of EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership to provide natural gas service to customers in the municipalities of Arran-Elderslie and Kincardine, and the Township of Huron-Kinloss that currently do not have service. The approval was later transferred to EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership.

EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval of natural gas distribution rates and charges it proposes to charge customers effective January 1, 2019, that take service. If the application is approved as filed, customers in the municipalities of Arran-Elderslie and Kincardine, and the Township of Huron-Kinloss would see the following annual bills:

Medium and Large Commercial $7,553.53 - $18,323.19
Large Volume Seasonal – Grain Dryers $17,435.49 - $54,261.95

It is important to review the application carefully to determine how you may be affected.

EPCOR Natural Gas Limited Partnership has also applied for approval of a rate plan for the ten-year rate stability period extending from January 2020 to December 2028. Rates during this period will be annually adjusted by inflation and may be subject to other adjustments as approved by the Ontario Energy Board.

Submit a letter of comment

You can submit a letter of comment that will be considered by the Board deciding the application. Unless the notice states otherwise, your letter of comment must be received by the Board no later than 60 days after the publication or service date of the notice for the application.

Your letter will be provided directly to the panel of Board members who will be deciding whether the application is approved. The panel will consider your comments in reaching their decision. In reaching its decision, the panel will only be able to consider comments which relate to issues which are within the authority of the Board and relevant to the issues being considered by the panel.
