Leave to Construct - Windsor Line Replacement Project

Enbridge Gas Inc.

Enbridge Gas Inc. has applied for approval to construct approximately 64 kilometres of natural gas pipeline and ancillary facilities in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent as well as the Town of Lakeshore and the Town of Tecumseh, both located in the County of Essex.

If the application is approved as filed, a 64 kilometre section of Enbridge Gas Inc.’s existing Windsor Line pipeline, comprising 8 inch and 10 inch diameter sections, would be replaced by a new 6 inch diameter natural gas pipeline.

Enbridge Gas Inc. is also asking the Ontario Energy Board to approve the form of agreements it offers to landowners to use their land for routing or construction of the proposed pipeline and ancillary facilities. Enbridge Gas Inc. says that the project is needed to address pipeline integrity concerns and to improve the safety and reliability of the Windsor Line.
