Ontario Power Generation Inc.

Ontario Power Generation Inc. has applied to the Ontario Energy Board with a plan to increase the amount it charges for the output of its nuclear generating facilities in each of the five years beginning January 1, 2022 and ending on December 31, 2026. Ontario Power Generation Inc. has also applied to the Ontario Energy Board to maintain, with no change, the base payment amount it charges for the output of its regulated hydroelectric generating facilities for the period from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2026 at the payment amount in effect on December 31, 2021. If the application is approved as filed, Ontario Power Generation Inc. has calculated that the monthly bill for a typical residential customer using 700 kWh of electricity per month would increase by the following amounts:

The OEB has issued its Decision and Order on OPG's Application for Payment Amounts for the Period from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2026.

Submit a letter of comment

You can submit a letter of comment that will be considered by the panel deciding the application. Unless the notice states otherwise, your letter of comment must be received by the OEB no later than 60 days after the publication or service date of the notice for the application. Your letter will be provided directly to the panel of Commissioners who will be deciding whether the application is approved. The panel will consider your comments in reaching their decision. The panel will only be able to consider comments which relate to issues which are within the authority of the OEB and relevant to the issues being considered by the panel.
