Fiscal Year 2022-2023

In 2020, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) began a multi-year modernization effort to become a top-quartile regulator, improving transparency and accountability, increasing efficiency, enhancing public trust, and delivering value for the people of Ontario. This Modernization Timeline chronicles the important milestones, our accomplishments, from the period October 2020 through September 2022, our official modernization period.

During this period, we advanced the goals we set out to tackle two years ago, grew our highly skilled workforce and progressed a generational energy transition in a meaningful way. Notably, through deep and meaningful engagement with the sector and working with stakeholders to set near- and long-term priorities, we shone a light on our regulatory processes, evolved our consultation approaches and, in so doing, importantly drove intentional, meaningful and transparent improvement across the entire organization.

Our official modernization period may have come to a successful end, but we continue to place our strategic focus on organizational excellence as we navigate the generational energy transition now taking place in Ontario and evolve toward becoming a top quartile regulator.
