On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chair Geoff Owen has confirmed the appointment of Carolyn Calwell as the OEB’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 8, 2025, following a comprehensive and competitive executive search process.
“Carolyn brings a wealth of experience to the role of CEO, having served as the OEB’s Chief Corporate Services Officer and General Counsel for the past four years. Her deep energy-sector expertise and commitment to evolving energy regulation will enable the OEB to deliver on the Minister of Energy and Mines’ Integrated Energy Plan Directive and carry out the OEB’s core regulatory responsibilities,” said Mr. Owen. He added: “The energy sector and the demands of consumers are changing. The OEB must evolve to meet these demands. Carolyn is exactly the right person to lead the organization during this important and unprecedented period of change.”
