Union Gas Limited and Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. have filed DSM plans with the Board since 1995. This consultation purpose of this consultation was to undertake a review of the DSM framework and develop guidelines for DSM to be used by natural gas distributors in developing their next generation DSM plans for 2012 and beyond.

On July 5, 2010, the Board received a letter from the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure confirming that the Board should now resume work in relation to low-income energy customers. On July 7 and July 22, 2010, the Board issued letters that provide some information as to the next steps for this initiative and, in particular, in relation to DSM programs targeted to low-income customers.
