The Ontario Energy Board proposed on its own motion a proceeding to determine a just and reasonable rate to be charged by an electricity distributor for the recovery of costs associated with an embedded generator having a nameplate capacity of 10 kilowatts or less that meets the eligibility requirements of the Ontario Power Authority’s microFIT program.

The Board has determined that electricity distributors shall reflect the updated province-wide fixed monthly charge related to the microFIT Generator Service Classification to $5.40 per month in their 2013 rate applications.

March 17, 2010

The Board has approved a province-wide fixed monthly charge for all electricity distributors related to the microFIT Generator rate class at $5.25 per month, effective September 21, 2009.

February 23, 2010

The Board has issued a Decision and Order with respect to a just and reasonable rate to be charged by an electricity distributor for the recovery of costs associated with a microFIT generator, i.e. an electricity generation facility contracted under the Ontario Power Authority’s microFIT program and connected to the distributor’s system.
