The OEB has issued a Notice of Proposal to amend the Distribution System Code. These proposed amendments are intended to establish a Capacity Allocation Model (CAM) to support a fair allocation of capacity and costs associated with system expansions to accommodate multiple residential subdivisions and other customer connections in a qualifying development area.  The OEB invites stakeholders to provide feedback on the proposal by May 9, 2025.

The OEB has posted its adjudicative reporting dashboard to provide stakeholders with the final report for Fiscal 2024-2025, with a discussion of its adjudicative performance.

The OEB has released an updated variance settlement factor that is to be used by electricity distributors to calculate a one-time credit or charge for consumers who choose to stop purchasing electricity through the Regulated Price Plan. This factor is called the "Final RPP Variance Settlement Factor" and is updated on the OEB website monthly.

The OEB reminds consumers that the Winter Disconnection Ban ends April 30. There are steps customers can take to avoid disconnection for non-payment and rules that utilities must follow. Bill payment support programs are also available for eligible customers and be aware of heightened scam activity at this time.
