The OEB has issued a letter on the inflation factors to be used to set rates for certain electricity transmitters and electricity and natural gas distributors for 2027.

The OEB has published the 2026 Quarter 3 prescribed accounting interest rates applicable to the carrying charges of deferral, variance and construction work in progress (CWIP) accounts of natural gas utilities, electricity distributors and other rate-regulated entities.

The OEB has released its report to the Minister of Energy and Mines entitled Streamlining Ontario’s Electricity Connection Framework. Prepared in response to the Minister’s Integrated Energy Plan Directive, the Report reviews customer connection procedures across Ontario’s electricity distribution and transmission systems and outlines proposed actions to support more efficient, transparent and coordinated connection processes for load customers. The OEB is also moving forward with Phase II of the Distribution Customer Connections Review and Streamlining Transmission Connections consultations to support implementation of proposals set out in the Report. 

The OEB’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia McNally to the role of full-time Commissioner effective Monday, May 25, 2026. Ms. McNally joins a panel of highly qualified and dedicated Commissioners committed to adjudicative excellence in service of Ontario’s energy sector and the consumers we serve.

The OEB has released an updated variance settlement factor that is to be used by electricity distributors to calculate a one-time credit or charge for consumers who choose to stop purchasing electricity through the Regulated Price Plan. This factor is called the "Final RPP Variance Settlement Factor" and is updated on the OEB website monthly.

The OEB has issued a letter which provides direction to rate-regulated entities regarding the reaccelerated investment incentive for capital cost allowance, recently enacted by the federal government.

The Market Surveillance Panel has submitted to the OEB its closing State of the Market Report for the legacy markets.

Chief Executive Officer Carolyn Calwell and Chief Commissioner Damien Côté have each issued letters to the sector outlining progress made throughout the second half of the OEB’s 2025–2026 fiscal year. This progress offers a clear line of sight into how the OEB’s work supported sector priorities, ensured effective adjudication and advanced the delivery of affordable, reliable, secure and clean energy that enables economic growth across the province.

The OEB has published an update to the Open Data compiled for the calendar year 2024. Based on stakeholder feedback, this update to a subset of Open Data collected through the Reporting and Record‑keeping Requirements (RRR), reflects corrections and enhancements made since the initial 2025 release to improve data accuracy, consistency and usability while supporting the OEB’s commitment to transparency and continuous improvement of Open Data.
