The OEB issued a Notice of proposed amendments to the Distribution System Code. These changes help lower barriers to distributed energy resource (DER) connections, reduce costs, and improve timelines, fairness, and consistency in connection processes in support of goals articulated in the Ontario’s Integrated Energy Plan, released in June 2025. Comments from stakeholders regarding the proposed amendments are due by November 19, 2025.
The OEB is undertaking a comprehensive review of distributed energy resource (DER) valuation, in response to the Minister of Energy and Mines’ Integrated Energy Plan Directive. The review aims to assess current DER compensation and delivery rates, as well as recommend changes or provide an update on actions that the OEB may take to unlock the full value of DERs.
The OEB issued a letter advising interested stakeholders that it intends to commence a generic proceeding in 2026 to review the OEB's Model Franchise Agreement.
