Harneet Panesar

The Chief Operating Officer provides executive leadership to the teams in Applications, Consumer Protection & Industry Performance, the Registrar’s Office and Operations Decision Support. 

Harneet Panesar was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in June 2021. Mr. Panesar brings to the organization broad industry expertise and a strong business orientation with a focus on outcomes. Mr. Panesar has spent the last 14 years in progressively responsible positions at Hydro One, one of the largest electric utilities in North America, most recently in the role of Director of Strategy and Integrated Planning.

Mr. Panesar has a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. He holds a Balanced Scorecard Certification and is a part-time lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University, teaching a Professional Master’s Diploma in Energy and Innovation. Mr. Panesar was awarded a Fellowship with Engineers Canada for his work with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) and service to the engineering profession.
