Details

The OEB concluded an initiative to establish specific performance targets related to distribution system reliability. The objectives of this initiative included:

  • Establishing specific performance targets for the existing system reliability measures. (System Average Interruption Duration Index, and System Average Interruption Frequency Index)
  • Considering the development of customer specific reliability measures (e.g. customers experiencing multiple interruptions), and address the monitoring of momentary outages.

The OEB has commenced a new initiative to define a “Major Event” that will be used to normalize reliability performance data, develop reporting to evaluate a distributor’s response to a Major Event and establish “customer specific” system reliability measures.
