The OEB has posted Price Comparison templates for Natural Gas Contracts for Enbridge and EPCOR (Aylmer) valid from April 1 - June 30, 2022.

The OEB has issued a Bulletin that sets out staff’s position that it will not take compliance action against electricity distributors who, despite exercising due diligence, are unable to obtain smart meters due to current supply constraints.

The OEB has issued the final Notice of Amendments to the Distribution System Code regarding the connection of distributed energy resources (DERs) to local electricity distribution systems. The amendments are intended to improve connection timelines and provide clarity and consistency in the process for connecting a DER. These amendments come into force on October 1, 2022.

The OEB has accepted an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance from Lafarge Canada Inc. The Assurance responds to non-compliance related to operation in the wholesale market without a licence.

The OEB has released an updated variance settlement factor that is to be used by electricity distributors to calculate a one-time credit or charge for consumers who choose to stop purchasing electricity through the Regulated Price Plan. This factor is called the "Final RPP Variance Settlement Factor" and is updated on the OEB website monthly.

The Market Surveillance Panel has submitted to the OEB its Monitoring Report on Ontario's wholesale electricity market.

The OEB has published the 2022 Quarter 2 prescribed accounting interest rates applicable to the carrying charges of deferral, variance and construction work in progress (CWIP) accounts of natural gas utilities, electricity distributors and other rate-regulated entities.

The OEB has accepted an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance from Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc., an electricity distributor. The Assurance responds to self-reported non-compliance related to overcharging customers as a result of a billing system error.

The OEB is pleased to provide this summary of improvements to the Reporting and Record-keeping Requirements (RRR) for licensed electricity distributors. With a view to streamlining the filing process, a number of changes to the RRRs have been made and the useability of the filing portal is further refined.

The OEB has accepted an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance from E.L.K. Energy Inc. following an OEB inspection into its record-keeping of asset conditions. The inspection found that E.L.K. Energy Inc. did not comply with certain provisions of the OEB’s Distribution System Code. This reflects the OEB’s commitment to protecting consumers by ensuring that regulated companies fulfil all of their regulatory requirements.
