What's New

On September 16, 2025, the Distribution System Code (DSC) amendments establishing a Capacity Allocation Model (CAM) to facilitate electricity system expansions in support of housing development came into force. In response to stakeholder feedback received during the consultation process, the OEB has issued a letter setting out its expectations and guidance to support the CAM implementation, including record-keeping and accounting.

The OEB is sharing template opt-in forms, a record-keeping template and communication materials to support electricity distributors implementing the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Rate, which aims to support the efficient integration of EVs in Ontario.

The OEB has released an updated variance settlement factor that is to be used by electricity distributors to calculate a one-time credit or charge for consumers who choose to stop purchasing electricity through the Regulated Price Plan. This factor is called the "Final RPP Variance Settlement Factor" and is updated on the OEB website monthly.
