The OEB has released an updated variance settlement factor that is to be used by electricity distributors to calculate a one-time credit or charge for consumers who choose to stop purchasing electricity through the Regulated Price Plan. This factor is called the "Final RPP Variance Settlement Factor" and is updated on the OEB website monthly.
The OEB has posted the electricity distributors' 2025 stretch factor assignments for the 2026 Incentive Rate Mechanism (IRM) rate-setting process. The benchmarking details and assignments are published in the Pacific Economics Group (PEG) "Empirical Research in Support of Incentive Rate-Setting: 2024 Benchmarking Update" Report to the Ontario Energy Board.
The OEB has issued a Final Notice of Amendment to the Distribution System Code to clarify that the 40-year revenue horizon applies only to residential customers by removing clause (b)iii from Appendix B. This amendment comes into force immediately.
