Commissioners

The Chief Commissioner is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and timeliness of the OEB’s adjudication work.

Commissioners make independent decisions on applications and other hearing matters that come before the OEB and to which they are assigned by the Chief Commissioner.

These applications, which include utilities’ requests for approval to change their rates, merge with another utility or build new infrastructure, are decided through a court-like process that involves an oral, written or electronic hearing.

February 26, 2026 - The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) Board of Directors announced the appointment of James Sidlofsky to the role of full-time Commissioner effective March 1, 2026. Mr. Sidlofsky joins an existing complement of highly qualified and dedicated Commissioners who work to achieve adjudicative excellence.
